This was sent to me by [EW] Inkblot as he is entitled to his opinion I decided to post this as a point of view.

Yet as a Company Spokes-Woman, has same sentiment (read more) I too say What about all the Games that are already out? You are playing anything from Americas Army to World at War and they all represent fighting one side against the other, would that mean that it is fair to say that the Title is Misrepresenting in reality? Maybe it is!!!

Then if that was the case then Games based on any War should be Stopped because they all have One pitted up against the other and 90% of all games have the USA/British as on one side SO why all of a sudden are people starting to say it has a detremental effect or is being as close to the real thing that it is taking its affect on War Today..

I say (my opinion) like Vietnam we put ourself in a place that was none of our business, but the game industrie put games out based on the Vietnam War and the games sold.... Did they stop that? No, and why should they, It gives people a job and yet it is an exscape from the Reality of what is or did happen.... You be the Judge! Pro. vs Con. Hmmm just like that Good vs Bad, Heaven vs Hell, USA vs Taliban what is the Difference is it all = WAR at its WORSE form in Reality but in Game the imagination is all in what your thinking is it not?

Below you will see that Fox has his profile as a politician put into proper perspective anyway

as QUOTED from pcworld

http://www.pcworld.com/

"

UK Defense Secretary Clueless About Medal of Honor

Matt Peckham, PC World

Aug 23, 2010 6:39 pm

Liam Fox sounds astonishingly uninformed. Britain's Secretary of State for Defense went on record yesterday calling for a retail ban on EA's forthcoming Medal of Honor, a modern military first-person shooter set during the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan. This, despite the fact that he's never played it.

Ignorance never silenced a politician. Fox told The Sunday Times he was "disgusted" with the game, and that it was "shocking that someone would think it acceptable to recreate the acts of the Taliban against British soldiers." The game, like most faction-based shooters, allows you to play as either of two opposing sides--a group of invading U.S. Army Rangers, or the defending Taliban forces.

"At the hands of the Taliban, children have lost fathers and wives have lost husbands," opined Fox, adding that "It's hard to believe any citizen of our country would wish to buy such a thoroughly un-British game," and urging retailers "to show their support for our armed forces and ban this tasteless product."

EA's response to Fox's comments was unequivocal. The company said Fox was inaccurately describing the game, that the game "does not allow players to kill British soldiers," and that "no British troops feature in the game."

Fox was undeterred. A spokeperson today said Fox "stood by" his comments, arguing that "the point remains that part of this game allows you to play the part of the Taliban attacking ISAF [International Security Assistance Force] troops in the area of central Helmand where British troops are operating."

Picking up a broader brush to paint with? It's certainly one way to avoid the implications of an error, the rationale behind the original point notwithstanding.

MCV reports that the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) has "distanced itself" from Fox's comments.

"Dr Fox was expressing a personal view and we understand why some people might find the subject matter of the game offensive," said a DCMS spokesperson.

"There is a ratings system in place which exists to categorize games appropriately, in this case the game in question is rated 18 so should only be sold to, and played by, adults."

Kudos to the DCMS for getting it right. Boo-hiss Liam Fox--the same Liam Fox previously accused of racism for referring to Afghanistan as a "broken 13th-century country"--for ignorantly calling for a ban on a game he's neither seen nor played."

Starcraft 2 is soon to shake the sky

If you have a computer you have probably heard about Blizzard Entertainment. They are the creators of huge titles like World of Warcraft, Warcraft and of cause Starcraft. Their games is being loved all around the globe but also accused of things like making kids that play the game violent.

They are releasing their new game Starcraft 2 at the July 27 all around the world. With Starcraft 1 selling 11 million copies since the release in 31 March 1998 to 1 February 2009, Starcraft 2 is probably going to sell at least a few million copies this year.

Starcraft, as you understand, is a very popular game. And it feels safe to safe that it’s the biggest RTS (Real-Time-Strategy) in the world. Starcraft 1 & 2 have a campaign that feels solid compared to games of today, but they also have a multiplayer that it’s more popular and is what Starcraft is known for. In the multiplayer you can choose to play as Protoss, an alien race, Terran, the human race or you can play as Zerg witch is the “bug” race. They all have their things, but Blizzard has made them very even (but sure they’ve 12 years, but it was even before now too).
Starcraft 2 has been in beta for a while now and the fans have been fast to cling on to the Beta keys that have been found of E-Bay for $200 and some times more, and the tournaments haven’t even waited for the game either. Many thousands of dollars has been won already and more will be won before the game is released.

Starcraft 2 will be 3 parts. First of it “Wings of Liberty” that brings the Terran campaign and the multiplayer and you will find it in stores 27 July 2010, well good luck finding it in stores 27 July 2010 if you haven’t preordered, ha!

Then we have the Zerg campaign following as an expansion pack that brings of cause the Zerg campaign and have additional material for the multiplayer.

If you open Starcraft with the expansion pack for Zerg you will only be able to play with other players that got the expansion pack too, but if you open Starcraft 2 without any expansion pack you will play in the lobby for Starcraft 2 without expansion pack, but you can have the expansion pack installed, just like Warcraft 3 if you are familiar with that game. YES IT’S MESSY! But when you sit down to play it will be very clear.

Last but not least we have the space race. (No, not US vs. Soviet to the moon) The Protoss campaign will also be as an expansion pack, but if you have the Zerg expansion pack is unclear but highly likely. It’s is going to handle multiplayer the same way as the Zerg campaign will. (Yes, that mess again)

The multiplayer is going to feature lots of maps, both from Blizzard and from geeks. One of the big things included in Wings of Liberty is the map editor that is going to be crazy and already is. If you don’t feel like playing Starcraft 2 as an RTS you can either make your own game with the Starcraft engine or find someone else that done it for you. There is already some FPS and some side scrolling shooter games and also Tetris (why not?). But of cause instead of making entire new games you can make Starcraft 2 maps and setups. Except the unexpected.

Price for the expansion packs has yet to been seen, but Wings of Liberty is going to be somewhat cheaper then other games that we’ve seen lately, but not free.

I’m looking forward to this game and going to preorder as soon as I get home. Would be very fun to play with ~QS~™ and see if anyone of you are Starcraft players.

The story behind the Terran campaign:
FIRST CONTACT

Terrans first journeyed to the far edge of the galaxy when a navigational malfunction sent their automated colony vessels hurtling off course. Bypassing their intended target, the ships crash-landed on three worlds scattered across the Koprulu sector.

Over several decades the terrans established colonies, spread to other planets, and came into conflict with one another. In the decade after the end of the Guild Wars, the Terran Confederacy stood unchallenged in its supremacy over colonial space.

The terran colonies first became aware they were not alone in the universe when a gleaming fleet of Protoss warships suddenly emerged over the Confederate world of Chau Sara. The advanced alien ships incinerated the planet's surface without warning.

Reeling from the unprovoked attack, the Confederacy sent a fleet led by Colonel Edmund Duke, to protect the nearby colony of Mar Sara. Surprisingly the Protoss retreated, and Colonel Duke proudly declared the retreat a Confederate victory.

What is "NEWs"

"What is NEWs? Well for Starters it is (of all things) INFORMATION. Posted August 20th, 2007 by fairtest in * ARN * media guide * state resources "Experts agree that defining news can be a difficult task. Most journalists agree that the following eight (8) elements make up what is considered........news."
* Immediacy: Reporting something that has just happened or is about to happen. Time is a strong ingredient, "today, yesterday, early this morning, tomorrow." The newness of the occurrence makes up "immediacy" in the news.
* Proximity: Facts and occurrences that are important to you personally; inflation, the Iran situation particularly if one of the hostages is someone you know or a family member of a close friend, the closing of a fire station close to your home. Such a closure is less important when it occurs across town. The question most asked by journalists is: "If this happened outside my immediate area, my city, my state, would I be interested in reading about it?" Keeping this question in mind is particularly important to the organizational PR person. You must "take off the I love this organization hat" and examine your story to see if indeed it would interest other readers.
* Prominence: Prominence as a news element is well-known to most of us. The public figure, holders of public office, people of renown or those who stimulate our curiosity, people in positions of influence all enjoy news prominence. For your visitor or speaker to qualify for news prominence, he or she must be well enough known to command the attention of readers either by reputation or by the nature of the topic to be discussed.
* Oddity: Oddity is often news. The bizarre, the unusual, the unexpected often make news. Generally those people who perform striking feats in emergency situations are news, such as a woman lifting an automobile off her child, traveling around the world in a sailboat, unusual recycling methods, use of materials in a different way. In journalism, oddity is defined as the "man bites dog" formula. Consider the reported rabbit attack on President Carter. That certainly made the "news."
* Conflict: Conflict is one element most observed in today's with the clash of ideologies making headlines worldwide. Although most businesses and organizations shy away from the reporting of conflict, it is understandable that this element is firmly based in the news formula.
* Suspense: Suspense creates and expands news appeal. The outcome of the Iranian hostages is suspenseful news. For the most part, organizations would rarely experience this type of circumstance. It is helpful to remember that news suspense is not the same as mystery suspense. However, mystery suspense in news does occur when a crime has been committed and the search is on for a suspect.
* Emotions Emotions are a news element commonly called "human interest" stories that stir our recognition of the basic needs both psychological and physical. Stories that prompt the reader toward sympathy, anger or other emotions in all their variety are commonly handled in feature-type stories. Organizations should be alert to the possibilities of "human interest" stories.
* Consequence The last element of news, consequence, is more difficult to explain, but generally for a story to have consequence it must be important to a great number of readers. It must have some impact for the reader. Such news will affect him or her in some personal way...the safety of the city's drinking water. The dumping of toxic wastes into the Snake River Aquifer is being examined from the standpoint of consequence now and in the future. Thus it becomes an important news story.
From this discussion of news story elements, it becomes clear that you should have these guidelines in mind when you're deciding if your message is news or an announcement; whether it's a feature or an item of limited public interest. From this you decide which format to use for distributing the information and the medium that is most likely to use your information."

Call to Arms Nexon's Bold Move into FPS

BEFORE ANYTHING THIS GAME IS FREE TO PLAY

In a very surprising and bold move Nexon America is about to release Combat Arms, an FPS that promise to be one of the top games os 2008. The move is not a surprise to the people or Korea since Nexon owns and manages the License for Warrock in that territory but for some reason decided to not license Warrock for rest of the territories hence K2 network picked up the game.

Combat Arms seems and feel just like Warrock but with update graphics the game The developer is called Doobic Studios and Combat Arms is a multiplayer game so there's no single-player mode. The game will launch with three game modes: Elimination (Team Deathmatch), One Man Army (Free for All), and Search & Destroy. Team Deathmatch is familiar to anyone who's played an FPS game: Players are split into two teams, and each team tries to get the most kills. The first team to a preset kill count wins the match. The One Man Army mode pits every player against every other player (individual deathmatch). Search & Destroy is also team-based, where one team has to plant a bomb, while the other has to prevent the bomb from being planted and set off.

The games are set up for 16 players, 8-vs-8, and smaller games can also be set up as well, also the game is centered on infantry combat so there will not be vehicles The game will launch with six maps and new maps will be constantly added. Players will fight in all types of terrain, from desert fortresses, to industrial complexes, to jungles. Most of the maps are quite large, with multiple paths through each map.

There are no player classes – you're limited in the number of items you can carry, but what you carry and how you equip your character is completely up to you. When you amass enough in-game money, you'll also be able to upgrade your backpack to give you more slots to carry additional items. Players will earn experience and in-game money with each match, with which to buy their gear. New ranks will unlock the availability of new weapons and equipment, as well as rare items. Players will also be able to collect achievements for special performances within the game.

The game will launch with over 30 guns In addition, weapons will be modifiable. We plan to have a wide variety of weapon attachments that you'll be able to use on all your guns -- silencers, scopes, extended magazines, etc. – so even if you and your friend both use the same M16 or AK, they can be tweaked for your own personal preferences.

Welcome To Quietstormclan.net

It was not so long ago, nor so many different Community/Clan names, Nor was it that we were being hacked, That We the Founding Members started What is now known as Quiet Storm. Before that, ah ha to search an Old Mans memory (no wonder they make computers with terabytes) when in my early days memory was only at 256 bytes (who needed more when I was young)now I can't even find that first computer. Some Original Members are Demoman21, Sentinex and Rageysdad. We met one boring evening in the Life of then to be Some bored crazed out Emo aka Chl0rid3 and some other Hackers (names are left out to protect their privacy) and the Clan that was attacked at that time was known as Chamber 37 Clan under the Leadership of Vader. So now C-37 was no longer playing WarRock (another story another time) and some of us Die Hard Gamers Got kicked from the C-37 Cry Well now what, you ask, no you didn't! Well after a little Persuasive Communications Huh (basically known as Bull Sh!t) These Gangsta, Emo, Wannabe, Script Kiddies Hackers (don't get your briefs bunched up) decided to help us out. What beauty there is in some people, They restored my faith once again in mankind. So, you might ask (or maybe not) What did we name Ourselves in the beginning, (actually my Parents, as did yours actually named you in the beginning)...sorry got caught up in the moment...Anyway We started........ 1st as A Band of Gamers which if I had any memory that name lasted 11 days (go find someone to dispute this for I am writing this story not you he he) Next is...... 2nd name Public Gamers little catch phrase isn't it...Not. again lasting only 17 Days Imagine if your parents were as unstable or wishy-washy (there is a pun here......) Then along comes this Person who has a tendency to leave us for a weeks at a time (and still does to this day) some name that makes me think of (this is where the pun comes in) bleach, Chl0rox, Chl0rid oh yeah Chl0rid3. Now he has his own Website he says how about a merge, A Merge now I am not one to just jump into anything so in about 10 maybe.....11......maybe even up to 12 minutes I said Ok. See lots of thought there, actually what made me make a quick decision was the number of people he said would follow where he goes...Ok I said and in no time he had 10 people maybe 20 that came and then "POOF" gone so much for the masses, Roll Eyes but some stayed to this day and play with us, knowing that ~QS~ does not and will not allow any type of use of cheats. So we kick around names... Gamers Clan, Gamerz or Pubic Hares (jk) Public Gamers then He Said PUBLIC GAMERZ THAT was it the Public Gamerz and our website was The Umbrella Corp (which is still up to this day) covering / encompassing Public Gamerz He was the Man of the Week when he came up with that Name, that was how long that name lasted too. Now don't get me Wrong, We both have our good Points His being Young, Carefree, Internet/Computer Suave as For me Old, Responsible (he is too), But I am good Looking (until I see my image) last but not least with age comes Wisdom..There I said it, Phew. So then we became Quiet Storm (oxymoron) it has been defined as anything but Quiet Storm is in some instances a weak word for what we have been through. ~QS~ has been through 9 yes nine Websites for many different reasons none that was "our Fault" yet many have held on with the knowledge of the Direction we are going, Yes it might be slow going (like me) But I was not Born this old, it took many, many, many Ok a lot of years to be where I am at. So in time you too will you get there. So I will say this is really a new beginning, Friends, Family, Brothers, Sisters, Moms and Dads let us have fun in what we do. I would also like to thank all the Members (too many to list) for being part of What still is ~QS~ Keep the Peace ~QS~ Gen. Rageysdad
